One day, a team member will come to you and say, “I’m overwhelmed.” As the leader, it’s your job to make sure team members get the support they need. So, what do you do? You bring in even more team members.

After a while, you notice the problem has stuck around. You thought you needed more people, but your practice is still running inefficiently! That’s because throwing people at the problem won’t make the problem go away.

The problem isn’t the people; the problem is your systems.

If there’s an inefficiency, bringing in more people won’t help. No matter how big your team is, the inefficiency will continue. You have to re-evaluate systems and make sure they’re actually supporting your practice (and your people).
