The 90 Day Pause
As I write, our entire ACT team is traveling here to Milwaukee for our quarterly planning meeting. Our strategic rhythm parallels the process we coach our clients through and there is a very specific reason for this rhythm.
What is the 90 Day Pause?
Neuroscience has indicated that businesses, and the humans that run them, get sidetracked and need to pause about every 90 days. This is intentional and very important. Without the pause, evidence shows we move farther and farther from our intended business goals. Why? Because life happens and over time it becomes more challenging to see the bigger picture while one is working day to day in the business.
The quarterly pause is your chance to identify what you are doing well, what challenges are in your way, and what priorities are most important in the coming quarter. It also is the perfect time to analyze and work on your team culture, assess your financial health, revisit your annual goals, and plan the next 90 days.
Using a popular analogy - you have to land the airplane in order to work on it. The same is true for your dental practice. Working on the long- term strategic health in between patients day to day is a recipe for mediocrity. We have to get OUT of our practices every 90 days so we can work ON the practice. What is true for dental teams is also true for us at ACT Dental.
If you are feeling like a hamster on a wheel, never able to get ahead, you likely need to take a business deep breath with a 90 day strategic planning. Our coaching process and TTT Study Club were designed to meet these exact needs for private practice dentists. Join us and let us assist you in thinking smarter and finding a path to your own version of Better Practice/Better Life.
